CRAIG MURRAY
Nearly everyone on the trip had read the extraordinary book "Murder in Samarkand" by Craig Murray the UK ambassador in Tashkent 2002-04.
A number of us were fortunate enough to attend a talk given by Craig Murray in London on 10th May 2011 entitled "torture". It was far from it and a really well delivered precis of the content of his book. Clearly an intelligent, clear-thinking, high-flying diplomat prepared to stick his neck out and who, as a result, was stitched up by a corrupt & morally bankrupt regime. Hopefully history will redress the balance.
